Goodbye Kadaster, hello VNG! After a successful (private) cloud migration of the Basisregistratie Kadaster (BRK), yesterday I said goodbye to the Kadaster for the second time in my career.
In the meantime, I had already been working parttime on my new project at the Vereniging Nederlandse gemeenten (VNG), the association of Netherlands municipalities, where I will now be working fulltime. I’m working there on the (open source) project “Uit betrouwbare bron” (“From a reliable source”), a research project in which we look at how governments (in the broadest sense of the word) should build registries, where difficulties such as different timelines, correction and recovery, and doubt about the accuracy of data are very important. All topics that (not entirely coincidentally) also play a role with the BRK: see also my conference talk at the AxonIQ conference.
Naturally, we’re going to do this with event sourcing (and among others Axon Framework 5!). Let’s see if I can still program a bit after all that Kubernetes of the past years ;-).
